International Mentor / Investor
Catherine McGuire was formally educated in England and France and spent her early twenties travelling the world with a job in tourism. Having saved some money, Catherine bought her first Buy to Let property at the age of 25 and then spent the next 20 years bringing up two daughters whilst working in the family business as a Company Director.
Following a change in her personal circumstances, Catherine found herself in a difficult financial position, with zero income and no pension in place. Her youngest daughter was at home with a long-term illness so Catherine was unable to seek employment. As she already had some ‘amateur’ property investment experience, Catherine decided to buy two Buy to Let’s through Mortgage & Equity Release. Having read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad, by the internationally acclaimed author and teacher, Robert T. Kiyosaki, Catherine understood the concept of passive income streams, thereafter found Legacy Education Alliance, Inc. (LEA) and signed up to an LEA Training Programme. Catherine became financially free within 18 months.
As well as a growing property portfolio, Catherine now has a development company, specialising in Grade 2 listed restorations. Catherine uses several investment strategies to build her portfolio within a 10-mile radius of the Georgian City of Bath, for both cash flow and capital growth and also uses Other People’s Money to do Flips to retain liquidity within the business. Additionally, Catherine has a business consultancy and is a coach for businesswomen, supporting and guiding them to develop multiple income streams, with a strong focus on professional business development, goal-setting and mindset shift.
