Property Investing Trainer/ Investor
Amanda Woodward started out her professional life seeking a conventional career path. After a happy childhood, Amanda grew restless at school, leaving college after one year and got a job in the travel industry in 2003. Amanda really enjoyed her job and climbed the traditional workplace ladder until she was made redundant seven years later. It was then and only then that she took a long, hard look at her life.
The company she had been working for was a victim of the 2008 recession. It was around about this time that she saw a newspaper advert for a Rich Dad Education seminar in London. Amanda says: “I was totally open-minded and was ready for something to change in my life mantra and path. I knew from gut instinct that I had to believe in a system that created financial freedom – if others had done it, so could I!”
At this free two-hour event, Amanda was totally inspired and saw sitting all around her people from all walks of life looking for something better. She immediately signed up to a Rich Dad Education three-day basic training weekend and thereafter to a more specialized advanced training package.
By March 2011, only three months after she started her property investment journey, Amanda had bought her first investment property. She sourced £20,000 using Other People’s Money (OPM) to ‘flip’ her first property and started to invest in Stoke-on-Trent and the North West Midlands. Amanda also started assisting at other Rich Dad Education events later that year to help enhance her knowledge and learn from the best in the business.
By 2012/13, Amanda had starting presenting at previews similar to the one she had been to just two years previously. She had accrued a portfolio of 15 properties by this time and was financially free within 18 months of having signed up to her initial three-day basic training. Having started out doing small ‘flips’ and purchasing Buy-To-Let properties, Amanda has since shifted her strategy to also buying large HMO’s (Houses in Multiple Occupation).
At the start of 2016, Amanda had invested in 50+ properties and joined the team on the Rich Dad Education three-day events as a keynote speaker. Along with her business partner she also runs other property related business linked to Property Sourcing & Refurbishments and works with Joint Venture partners who want to invest in property. When looking back at the last 10 years of her life Amanda believes that “You have to surround yourself with people that you want to be like and I was fortunate to have someone whom I could model and learn from. Get yourself a mentor and always believe in yourself. If I was advising my younger self I would tell myself to think big, always stay positive and to set huge life goals from an early age.”
Outside of her property investment training and investing, Amanda loves to travel and enjoys experiencing new places each year. She enjoys personal development and taking time out to improve different areas of her life. Financial freedom grants her this luxury. She loves spending time with her closest family and friends and is currently learning to speak French, with of vision to have overseas homes as part of her successful lifestyle.
Amanda is highly committed to giving back as part of her investment strategy, both through training and helping others. Amanda currently sponsors a children’s football team in Stoke-On-Trent and mentors teenagers on the subject of business and enterprise on behalf of a large national charity. Amanda also contributes to the MS Society which is a charity close to her heart and will be running The Virgin Money London Marathon 2017 to fundraise for awareness of this charity.
